About The Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame has been an important part of the ARIA Awards since 1988. Traditionally taking place during the music awards ceremony, ARIA has inducted artists as diverse as AC/DC, Joan Sutherland, Olivia Newton-John, Johnny O'Keefe, Paul Kelly, INXS, Slim Dusty, Jimmy Little, and many more into the ARIA Hall of Fame. Inductees are selected by the ARIA Board after consultation with the Hall of Fame Advisory Committee.

Since 2005 the ARIA Hall of Fame has been an annual stand-alone event that honours Australian musicians’ achievements have had a significant impact in Australia or around the world.

The 2008 ARIA Hall of Fame will be held on Tuesday, 1 July at the magnificent Melbourne Town Hall. This is the first year the Hall of Fame will be held at this venue, moving from its previous home of the Plaza Ballroom to accommodate the high demand for tickets.

And for the second year, ARIA is delighted to confirm that Julia Zemiro will be returning to host this year’s Hall of Fame event.
